A combined qualification covering both the clearance and survey/inspection pathways, ideal for those who want to demonstrate competence across the full range of cavity wall extraction and surveying disciplines.
Overview
This qualification is designed for individuals involved in all aspects of cavity wall surveys, inspections and clearance. It has been developed at the request of, and in partnership with, OSCAR Onsite. Prior to registering on this qualification, individuals must be registered with OSCAR. Candidates complete the mandatory units and one or both of the pathways. This qualification is delivered through our state-of-the-art e-portfolio software, meaning learners can access the course 24/7 with various contact options to their tutor. Please note that an onsite assessment is also required to complete this qualification, where an assessor will visit your workplace to observe and verify your practical skills in a real-world environment. This combined qualification covers both the clearance pathway and the survey/inspection pathway. The clearance pathway enables individuals to carry out the extraction of cavity wall insulation to create a clear cavity that can be reinsulated or insulated. The survey/inspection pathway requires candidates to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to interpret information to be able to carry out a Cavity Clearance survey in accordance with job specifications, following safe working practices and within the allocated time. Candidates must complete the mandatory units and one or both of the pathways to achieve the minimum credit value of 24 credits.

This qualification is made up of 3 mandatory units and 2 pathway units . Candidates must complete the mandatory units and the required pathway units. The minimum credit value of this qualification is 25 credits.

This optional additional unit will appear on the qualification certificate if achieved, but does not count towards the minimum credit value of the qualification.
Assessment
Evidence of performance and knowledge is required. Evidence of performance should be demonstrated by activities and outcomes, and should be generated in the workplace only, unless indicated under potential sources of evidence. Evidence of knowledge can be demonstrated through performance or by responding to questions. The main source of evidence for each unit will be observation of the candidate's performance and knowledge demonstrated during the completion of the unit.
